Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Golfsocial collects through this website, why, and the rights you have. We keep it short, and we only collect what we actually need.

Who we are

Golfsocial is the data controller for the personal data covered by this policy. You can reach us any time at hello@golfsocial.club.

What we collect

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the email address you enter. That is the only personal data we ask you for, and we do not ask for your name. Beyond that, we use Google Analytics to understand traffic on the site. It collects usage data such as which pages you view, your browser and device, and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and it sets cookies.

When you visit, our hosting provider automatically processes standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. We do not use this to identify or profile you.

Why, and the legal basis

We use your email only to send you the newsletter and occasional updates about Golfsocial. The legal basis is your consent under the GDPR, Article 6(1)(a), which you give when you sign up and can withdraw at any time. The legal basis for analytics and the technical data above is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site and keeping it secure, Article 6(1)(f).

Who processes your data

We use MailerLite to store our subscriber list and send the newsletter. MailerLite acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement. We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to measure use of the site, and Google acts as a data processor for this. Our hosting provider processes the technical data above on our behalf, also under a data processing agreement. Some of this data may be processed outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards, such as Google’s standard contractual clauses. We never sell or rent your data, and we only share it where the law requires us to.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored within the EU/EEA. If a provider ever needs to process data outside the EU/EEA, we make sure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. Technical server data is kept only briefly, for security and troubleshooting.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to the subscriber list is limited to people who need it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email hello@golfsocial.club, and we will respond within one month. Withdrawing your consent does not affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it.

Automated decisions and profiling

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Children

The website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 without consent from a holder of parental responsibility.

Cookies and local storage

This website uses Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies, for example _ga, to recognise returning visits and measure use of the site. We store your language choice locally in your browser so the site remembers it. That is functional only and never leaves your device. You can opt out of analytics by blocking cookies in your browser or by using Google’s browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics.

Complaints

If you believe we handle your data incorrectly, you have the right to complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, at datatilsynet.dk.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will let subscribers know by email.
